It is known to speed the recovery of health ailments. It helps fight anxiety and has a soothing effect on the brain.

My survey

Today i took a survey around my neighborhood to see what types of music people listen to and how it helps them with stress. More then half of the people said they use music therapy and they listen to classical music. Others said they do breathing exercises, quick bursts of exercise or just regular exercise, mini- meditation or regular  meditation, and etc.

my experiment # 2

I have completed my experiment and my hypothesis was correct. Classical music does lower blood pressure more than rock, pop or thew other genres of music. It makes you more calm then rock, because rock make me get a minor headache. And that doesn't help at all with stress.

my experiment #1

I have done research and they say that classical smooth relaxing music is the best type of music to keep your blood pressure low and to keep you calm and less stressed. I will be conducting this experiment.  I will take my blood pressure in the morning then listen to classical and rock music to see if classical music is really better for stress. My hypothesis is that classical music will be the one that lowers blood pressure more then rock, pop, or any other type and make you less stressed. At the end of the day i will take my blood pressure again to see how low it dropped and with one is more soothing. We shall find out.

music and stress

The soothing power of music is well-established. It has a unique link to our emotions, so can be an extremely effective stress management tool.
Listening to music can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our minds and bodies, especially slow, quiet classical music. This type of music can have a beneficial effect on our physiological functions, slowing the pulse and heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and decreasing the levels of stress hormones. As music can absorb our attention, it acts as a distraction at the same time it helps to explore emotions. This means it can be a great aid to meditation, helping to prevent the mind wandering.
